The problem
CasoTrack began as document automation. Conversations with immigration firms showed that the bigger cost was the inbox: clients needed updates, and lawyers repeatedly had to explain where a case stood.
My part
I led the research, designed and built the product, and took outreach through to a signed paid pilot. The research changed what I was building, rather than simply confirming the original concept.
Key decisions
Follow the problem found in research
The initial document automation idea gave way to client communication when firms described where their time was actually going.

Write for the client
The product centers on plain-language case updates. The editor prompts the lawyer to write as they would in a letter, and a quiet week can still be an update: there is no forced progression.
Give clients their own view
A mobile portal shows the client where the case stands, which documents are still needed and every update so far, so the answer is there before they think to email.
Validate through a paid pilot
I carried the work beyond design and development into outreach and a signed pilot, so the next decisions can come from real use.
Inside the product.
Opening a case, the document checklist the client receives, and the full history of every case.

Where it landed
A signed, paid pilot. The next decisions come from the firm using it every day.
